Where has it gone
the folly of youth?
Did it grow old
and long in the tooth?
Our sagging jowls quiver
in condemnation
of brazen young men
without obligation.
We gasp and we scoff
with values antique
while girls oozing gusto,
chutzpah and cheek,
challenge a system
where rivets cry rust
and question the doctrine
of theories unjust.
But sadly that fervour
of which we once thrived
will be snuffed like a candle
and never revived.
